Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Monroe County Claims Life of 19-Year-Old Ty Graves

MONROE COUNTY, KY – A tragic motorcycle accident on the night of April 1, 2025, claimed the life of 19-year-old Ty Graves in Monroe County. The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 15 responded to a two-vehicle collision on County House Road at approximately 8:15 P.M. CST.

Crash Details & Investigation

According to the preliminary investigation, Graves was traveling westbound on County House Road on a 2007 Honda motorcycle when he attempted to overtake another westbound vehicle in a no-passing zone.

Unaware of an oncoming 2023 Ford Explorer, operated by 76-year-old Marilyn Deweese, Graves collided head-on with the SUV. The impact threw him from his motorcycle, resulting in catastrophic injuries.

Emergency Response & Loss of Life

Emergency responders, including the Monroe County Fire Department, EMS, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, rushed to the scene. Graves was transported to a local hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Monroe County Coroner.

Marilyn Deweese, the driver of the Ford Explorer, sustained minor injuries and was also transported to a local hospital for treatment. She is expected to recover.
