Family Seeks Justice in June Murder of Newton Father Outside Motorcycle Club
Family and friends are still searching for answers in the killing of 32-year-old Jordon Cassell, who was shot and killed outside the Outlaws Motorcycle Club in Newton, North Carolina, on June 8.
Police say Cassell was gunned down in front of the club during the early morning hours. Details about what led up to the shooting have not been released, and investigators have not publicly identified any suspects.
Cassell’s family describes him as a devoted father and a loving presence in the lives of those who knew him. At the time of his death, his son — who is autistic — was just 3½ years old. Family members say the boy is now growing up without his father because of a senseless act of violence.
In the weeks following the shooting, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), along with SWAT teams, executed a search warrant at the Pagans Motorcycle Club clubhouse in Lenoir. While investigators have not confirmed any connection between that search and Cassell’s death, no arrests have been made in the case.
The murder has deeply shaken the Newton community, with Cassell’s loved ones pleading for justice. They’ve shared photos of him in happier times, hoping to remind the public that behind the headlines is a man who worked hard, loved his family, and had much more life to live.
Police and the SBI continue to investigate the killing and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted to the Newton Police Department or directly to the SBI.
As the case remains unsolved, Cassell’s family is left with grief and unanswered questions. They are calling on the public to help bring closure, not just for them, but for the young son who will grow up without his father.
