Beaumont, TX – A tragic incident in the Amelia area of Beaumont on Tuesday night has claimed the life of a local man after he was accidentally run over by a passing vehicle. Authorities have confirmed that no charges are expected to be filed against the driver, citing the nature of the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The incident occurred on April 9, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Officers responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian crash in the 8600 block of Landis Drive, where a man was found critically injured after being struck by a vehicle.
According to preliminary findings from the investigation, the driver of a gray Nissan Sentra was traveling westbound on Landis Drive when he unknowingly drove over a man lying in the roadway. Investigators believe that visibility played a key role, as the driver did not see the victim before the impact. Immediately after the collision, the driver stopped and called 911, remaining at the scene and cooperating fully with law enforcement.
Beaumont EMS arrived quickly and initiated life-saving measures before transporting the victim to Saint Elizabeth Hospital. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Trey Guillory, a resident of Beaumont.
