BLADES, Del. — Delaware State Police have released the identity of the man who tragically lost his life in a fatal crash following a police pursuit on Saturday night. Authorities confirmed the victim as 58-year-old Purnell Collins of Seaford, Delaware.

According to investigators, the crash occurred in Blades on the evening of Saturday, September 6, 2025, when troopers from Delaware State Police Troop 5 attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle involved failed to stop, leading to a pursuit through the area.

During the course of the chase, the vehicle ultimately left the roadway, resulting in a serious crash. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but despite life-saving efforts, Collins was pronounced deceased at the scene.
