Dallas Man Killed in Highway 22 Crash in Yamhill County

YAMHILL COUNTY, Ore. (Sept. 18, 2025) — A tragic collision on Highway 22 in Yamhill County claimed the life of 45-year-old Devere Tucker Eastman of Dallas on Saturday evening, according to the Oregon State Police (OSP).

The Crash

OSP reported that troopers were dispatched to the scene shortly after 6:45 p.m., following multiple calls about a serious two-vehicle crash near milepost markers just outside of Willamina. When emergency responders arrived, they found extensive damage to both vehicles involved and immediately began lifesaving efforts.

Despite the quick response, Devere Eastman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigation Underway

According to preliminary findings, Eastman was driving eastbound on Highway 22 when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle collided head-on with a westbound car. Investigators are considering several potential contributing factors, including speed, road conditions, and possible impairment.

Toxicology samples were collected as part of standard procedure and results are pending. OSP confirmed that the investigation remains active, and reconstruction specialists have been brought in to analyze the crash scene.

Traffic Impacts

The collision forced the temporary closure of both directions of Highway 22 between Dallas and Grand Ronde for several hours on Saturday evening. Troopers and Yamhill County deputies worked to redirect traffic onto alternate routes, but drivers reported delays lasting more than three hours. The highway was fully reopened around 10:30 p.m. after the scene was cleared.
