LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Camille Hensarling Mahtook, who passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at just 24 years old. Surrounded by the love of her family and the unwavering devotion of her husband, Camille’s departure has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who cherished her.

Funeral Services and Visitation
A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Camille’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the St. John Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, a sacred resting place where her life and legacy will be remembered for generations.
Visitation for family, friends, and the broader community will be held at Martin & Castille’s Downtown location on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary service will be prayed at 6:30 PM, paying tribute to Camille’s deep faith and devotion. On Saturday morning, visitation will continue at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist beginning at 10:00 AM and will remain open until the start of the funeral service.
