Chesterfield County Police Arrest Son in Connection to Father’s Homicide on Goldenbrook Drive

Chesterfield County, Virginia — A recent incident has cast a somber shadow over the Chesterfield community. On March 26, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers from the Chesterfield Police Department responded to a request from Richmond Police to conduct a welfare check on a resident in the 12000 block of Goldenbrook Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of 69-year-old Richard W. Wyatt inside the residence. Preliminary investigations suggest that Richard Wyatt had been deceased for approximately one week prior to the discovery.

The investigation took a pivotal turn when Frank B. Wyatt, 46, walked into a Richmond police station and confessed to the killing. Frank Wyatt, the son of the deceased, resides at the same Goldenbrook Drive address. He was subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with his father’s death.

According to court documents, Frank Wyatt admitted to a physical altercation with his father approximately two weeks prior to the incident. During this confrontation, Frank claimed he choked Richard until he stopped breathing and then pushed him down the stairs.

Chesterfield Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Richard Wyatt’s death. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
