According to officials, the collision involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle, resulting in a devastating scene that has left one person dead and others in critical condition.
The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies, along with local fire crews, responded immediately to the crash site. Upon arrival, first responders found severe damage to the passenger vehicle and injuries requiring advanced medical attention. Hanover Fire Department was called in to provide mutual aid response, given the scale and urgency of the incident.
Due to the seriousness of the crash, MedFlight was dispatched to the scene to airlift a critically injured patient to a trauma center. Officials stated that life-saving measures were performed on site before the patient was flown out. Sadly, at least one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, though authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
As emergency personnel worked to stabilize the situation, Route 30 was shut down in both directions near the crash site. “This is a tragic incident for our community,” a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson stated. “Our thoughts are with the family of the victim as we continue to investigate what happened.”
At this stage, investigators have not released details regarding the cause of the collision. They are examining whether speed, weather, or driver impairment played any role in the crash. The tractor-trailer driver is reportedly cooperating with authorities as part of the ongoing investigation.
Local residents and commuters who rely on Dawn Boulevard and Camp Road are advised to seek alternate routes while the scene remains active.
