Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office Assumes Lead in Mount Holly Homicide Investigation
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office (BCPO) has confirmed that it is leading the investigation into a homicide that occurred earlier today at Mill Dam Park in Mount Holly. Local and county law enforcement remain active at the scene as investigators work to collect evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
BCPO Leading the Case
Authorities announced that the BCPO has officially assumed the role of lead investigative agency. The office is working in close collaboration with the Mount Holly Police Department, which initially responded to the scene, and with assistance from officers from several neighboring jurisdictions.
“This is an active investigation, and our team is working diligently to ensure a thorough and accurate review of the evidence,” a BCPO spokesperson said.
Scene Secured, Park Remains Closed
Mill Dam Park and surrounding areas have been temporarily closed to the public as investigators conduct a detailed forensic examination of the crime scene. Law enforcement officials advised that the closure will remain in effect until further notice, stressing the importance of maintaining the integrity of the evidence.
