Body Found in New Philadelphia Identified as 36-Year-Old Dennison Man
NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio – Authorities have identified the body discovered Sunday in a fenced lot on Maple Avenue Northwest as 36-year-old Bryant Sullivan of Dennison, according to the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office.
The discovery was made around 4:45 p.m. Sunday, when a caller reported finding a body in a high brush area located behind Walmart and Aldi. Responding officers from the New Philadelphia Police Department confirmed the presence of human remains, prompting an immediate investigation.
Rachel Fetty, an investigator with the coroner’s office, said that while the cause and manner of death remain under investigation, foul play is not suspected at this time. An autopsy is being conducted by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine more definitive answers.
Based on Sullivan’s last known contact with family members, investigators believe he may have been deceased for approximately one month before being found. Notably, he had not been reported as a missing person during that time.
Police Chief Tessa Pohovey confirmed the circumstances of the discovery and said authorities are awaiting results from the autopsy to better understand what happened.
On social media, friends and community members noted that Sullivan had not been active for several weeks, further aligning with the coroner’s timeline. Many expressed sadness and offered prayers for his family, who are now facing both grief and unanswered questions.
The death of Bryant Sullivan has left those who knew him in shock, with loved ones hoping for clarity and closure once the investigation is complete. Authorities say updates will be provided as soon as results from the medical examiner are available.
For now, the community mourns quietly, extending compassion and prayers to a family experiencing a tragic and unexpected loss.
