The sheriff’s office is urging the public for any additional information that could help move the investigation forward.
On Saturday evening, emergency personnel responded to a crash scene in Dodge County, where they found Meadows suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported first to Methodist Fremont Health and later to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, but despite efforts to save her, she tragically passed away from her injuries. Authorities have confirmed that Meadows had been shot multiple times before the crash occurred, which is central to the ongoing investigation.
The investigation, which was initially reported as a domestic-violence-related incident, revealed that Meadows and Bryan K. Jeselink, a resident of Texas, had been in a relationship for approximately a year. According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, the two had arrived in Columbus, Nebraska, about two weeks prior to the incident for work-related purposes. Investigators believe that the events leading to the shooting were a result of an altercation related to their personal relationship.

In their update, the sheriff’s office reassured the public that there was no ongoing threat to the community following the incident. Jeselink remains in custody as the investigation continues, and law enforcement is actively working to gather all relevant facts to ensure that the individual responsible is held accountable for this tragic loss.
The shooting was reported around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
