Armed Robbery at North Port 7-Eleven Linked to Multi-Jurisdiction Crime Spree

North Port, FL – Police are investigating an early-morning armed robbery at a local convenience store that may be connected to a series of crimes across Florida.

According to the North Port Police Department (NPPD), the incident happened around 4:00 a.m. Friday morning at the 7-Eleven gas station located near Toledo Blade and Cranberry Boulevards.

Armed Suspect Threatens Employees

Officers said a suspect entered the store dressed in all black, including a hoodie, gloves, mask, and sunglasses. The individual reportedly pointed a firearm at employees and demanded money from the cash register.

The terrified clerks complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the store on foot.

Getaway Vehicle Identified

Investigators believe the suspect ran from the scene before entering a dark-colored sedan, which was last seen traveling southbound on Interstate 75.

The vehicle description is limited, but detectives are reviewing surveillance video from the store and nearby traffic cameras in an effort to identify the suspect’s movements before and after the robbery.

Possible Crime Spree Across Florida

Authorities say this robbery may not have been an isolated incident. NPPD has received information suggesting the same suspect—or group of suspects—may be linked to similar armed robberies in multiple jurisdictions north of Sarasota County.

The pattern of disguise, use of a firearm, and quick getaways in a dark sedan closely resemble reports from law enforcement agencies in neighboring counties.

Police Response and Public Safety

NPPD officers arrived at the 7-Eleven within minutes of the robbery call. While no one was physically harmed during the incident, detectives described the encounter as “incredibly dangerous” and said the level of threat to both employees and customers was severe.

In a statement, NPPD urged residents and business owners to remain cautious:

“These are serious crimes that put innocent lives at risk. We are working closely with law enforcement agencies across Florida to identify the suspect and prevent further incidents. Anyone with information or who may have seen something suspicious around Toledo Blade and Cranberry Boulevards early Friday morning is urged to contact us immediately.”

Community on Edge

The robbery has rattled residents in the North Port area, particularly given its early-morning timing and the possibility that the suspect is connected to crimes elsewhere in the state.

Several locals expressed concern about safety at 24-hour convenience stores and gas stations, which are often targeted by armed criminals seeking quick cash.

Ongoing Investigation

NPPD detectives, in coordination with regional task forces, are continuing their investigation. Forensic evidence from the 7-Eleven, surveillance footage, and witness statements are all being analyzed.

At this time, no arrests have been made. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect, vehicle, or related incidents to contact the North Port Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
