Fort Worth Teen Fatally Shot During Alleged Gambling Dispute; Suspect at Large
Fort Worth, TX — A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot Wednesday evening in Fort Worth, Texas, during what authorities believe was a gambling-related altercation. The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. in the 3800 block of Great Basin Lane.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as Kearon Deon Taylor, inside an apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy confirmed that Taylor died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Taylor and the suspect were possibly engaged in gambling outside the apartment complex when a confrontation occurred. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly produced a handgun and shot Taylor. Taylor attempted to flee into the apartment but succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled the scene on foot and remains unidentified.
As of Thursday morning, no arrests have been made. The Fort Worth Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
