Alice, Texas Mourns the Tragic Loss of Lindsey Webster, 24-Year-Old Mother and Pharmacy Student
The community of Alice, Texas, is grieving the untimely death of Lindsey Webster, a 24-year-old mother of two and aspiring pharmacist, who was killed in a devastating vehicle accident on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The crash occurred around 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of FM 2044 and U.S. Highway 281 in Jim Wells County, just north of Alice.
A Promising Life Cut Short
Lindsey, a 2019 graduate of Orange Grove High School, was on the cusp of completing her degree in pharmacology at Texas A&M Health Science Center Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy. Her academic achievements were set to culminate in a graduation ceremony in College Station, a milestone she tragically did not reach. Texas Highway Patrol reports indicate that Lindsey’s vehicle failed to stop at a posted stop sign, resulting in a collision with an 18-wheeler. She was pronounced dead at the scene .
Remembering Lindsey
Described by her former teachers as “very driven” and “a great, great student,” Lindsey was known for her maturity, dependability, and outstanding abilities. DeDe Cunningham, one of her high school teachers, expressed the community’s shock, stating, “I couldn’t believe it. It was one of those stories that you’re like this can’t be real” .
Lindsey’s dedication extended beyond academics. She was a single mother to two young daughters, balancing multiple jobs, church service, and her rigorous studies. Her grandmother, Grandma Finto, shared, “Lindsey was a fighter—strong, selfless, and beautiful inside and out. She had been through the darkest of times, yet never lost faith in Jesus or her dream of becoming Dr. Webster” .
Community Support and Memorial
The loss of Lindsey has deeply affected the Alice community and the Texas A&M pharmacy family. In honor of her academic achievements and the impact she had on those around her, the university posthumously recognized her accomplishments. Friends, family, and community members have come together to support her two daughters and to celebrate Lindsey’s life and legacy.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at BT Church in Alice, Texas, followed by interment at Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove. A reception was held at The Rifle Club in Orange Grove, where loved ones gathered to remember Lindsey’s vibrant spirit and the indelible mark she left on their lives .
