HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY FOLLOWING SHOOTING AT BROOKWOOD APARTMENTS
Person County, NC — On May 13, 2025, at approximately 7:38 p.m., deputies with the Person County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at 390 Henderson Road, Brookwood Apartments.
Upon arrival, deputies located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Willie Palmer, was treated on scene but later succumbed to his injuries.
According to witness statements, three suspects were observed actively engaged in gunfire with the victim before fleeing the scene. The suspects remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous.
The Person County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this tragic incident and urges anyone with information to contact Investigator Brown at 336-597-0500. Callers may remain anonymous.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Palmer’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” said Sheriff Jason Wilborn. “This was a senseless act of violence, and we are doing everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.”
