10-Year-Old Girl Driving Truck Fatally Strikes 6-Year-Old Boy in Lufkin; Clinton Earl Johnson Jr. Arrested for Criminal Negligence

A tragic incident occurred on Oakwood Drive in Lufkin, Texas, when a 10-year-old girl, under the guidance of 31-year-old Clinton Earl Johnson Jr., drove a pickup truck that struck and killed a 6-year-old boy. The boy, identified as Johnson’s stepson, was sitting on the porch using a phone when the accident happened .

According to the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson instructed the 10-year-old girl to move his Nissan Titan pickup truck after she complained that it was in her way while riding a tricycle. As she attempted to move the vehicle, she lost control and accidentally drove it into the porch, hitting the 6-year-old boy, who later died at a hospital .

Investigators reported smelling alcohol on both Johnson and the boy’s mother, who admitted to consuming three to four drinks each while grilling. Johnson has been arrested and charged with state jail felony criminally negligent homicide. His bond has not yet been set .
