In Loving Memory of Kimberly Whaley Gone Too Soon, Forever Remembered

Loganville, Georgia, is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 62-year-old Kimberly Whaley, a beloved member of the community whose life was tragically taken following a senseless act of violence outside the CVS Pharmacy on Atlanta Highway.

On Friday, November 14, 2025, just before 2 p.m., Kimberly was shot in the head while in the parking lot of the CVS located at 4377 Atlanta Highway. First responders rushed to her aid, providing emergency care on scene before she was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. For two days, she remained in critical condition as loved ones, neighbors, and members of the Loganville community prayed and hoped for her recovery. Sadly, Kimberly passed away on Sunday afternoon, leaving behind a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.

Kimberly was more than a victim of tragedy—she was a mother, a friend, a neighbor, and a woman whose life touched many. Known for her kindness, warm smile, and gentle presence, she carried herself with quiet strength and compassion. Whether she was offering a listening ear, helping a friend in need, or simply brightening someone’s day with her laughter, Kimberly had a way of making people feel valued and cared for. Her loss is felt deeply, and the community mourns not only the violence that took her life but the beauty and warmth that she leaves behind.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Loganville Police quickly issued a BOLO for a person of interest. Thanks to coordinated efforts and license-plate recognition technology, Lawrenceville Police located and detained an individual shortly after the incident. While the person of interest is in custody, no charges have yet been filed, and investigators are still working to determine the motive and full circumstances surrounding the deadly encounter. Police Chief Dick Lowry has assured the public that the investigation remains active and thorough.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as they seek justice for Kimberly. Those who may have seen anything or who possess relevant details are encouraged to contact Sgt. Clint Kitchens of the Loganville Police Department at 770-466-8087.

The CVS store where the incident occurred was temporarily closed Friday during the investigation, a sobering reminder of how suddenly and deeply tragedy can disrupt everyday life.

As Loganville mourns, the community comes together in reflection—honoring Kimberly’s memory, praying for her loved ones, and standing united against violence. Her life, though cut short, will be remembered for the love she gave, the light she shared, and the lasting impact she had on the people around her.

May Kimberly Whaley rest in eternal peace.

Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of family, friends, and a community that will never forget her.
