Tragedy in Norfolk: Body of Missing Teen, Neltron Shaw Jr., Found Near Hague Towers

It is with deep sorrow, heavy hearts, and a community full of unanswered questions that we remember the life of Neltron Lee Shaw Jr., only 15 years old, whose life was tragically cut short far too soon. Norfolk Police confirmed that Neltron’s body was discovered near a dumpster behind Hague Towers on Sunday morning. They reported that he was found alone, and no one else was present at the scene. Yet, even in those quiet final moments, it is important to understand that Neltron was never truly alone—his story, his spirit, and the love carried by all who knew him continues to echo through every heart that mourns him today.

Neltron was not just a name on a headline.

He was a son, a sibling, a friend, a neighbor, a smile, a laugh, a dreamer.

Born into a world that didn’t always make things easy, he still found reasons to laugh, still held onto hope, and still loved the people around him deeply. Those who knew him speak of his bright personality—how his presence could turn silence into conversation, and sorrow into shared understanding. He was young, full of life, and full of possibility.

Growing up, Neltron was the kind of child who made an impression. He was curious, energetic, and creative. Whether he was outside playing, talking with friends, or simply hanging around family, there was always a spark to him. The kind of spark that made you believe in second chances, brighter days, and futures built from resilience. And even at 15, with so much still ahead of him, his life already carried meaning in the hearts of those who loved him.

His loss leaves behind a quiet we do not know how to fill.

A chair that will remain empty.

A voice we will not hear again.

A face that should still be here.

The community mourns not only the loss of a young life, but the silence that comes with unanswered questions. No parent should have to bury their child. No friend should have to light a candle where laughter used to be. And no child should have their story end behind a building, alone, before they ever had a chance to fully live.

But today, we remember Neltron not for the way his life ended, but for the love, light, and memories he leaves with us:

  • His laughter, loud, warm, and contagious
  • His kindness, even when the world felt heavy
  • His dreams, some spoken, some held quietly in his heart
  • His name, which will never be forgotten

To the Shaw family, we extend our deepest and most sincere condolences. There are no words heavy enough to hold your grief, but there are hearts here willing to hold you as you walk through it. May you find comfort in the memories you keep, in the love that will always remain, and in the knowledge that Neltron’s life mattered.

To Neltron:

We remember you.

We honor you.

We speak your name.

We carry you with us.

Rest in Eternal Peace,

Neltron Lee Shaw Jr.

Gone too soon, but never gone from our hearts.
