Detectives Investigating Homicide in Camden: 29-Year-Old Bruce Dixon Fatally Shot

Camden, NJ – Authorities are actively investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a Camden man on Saturday afternoon, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

The incident occurred on October 18, 2025, at approximately 1:50 p.m., when officers from the Camden County Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 1200 block of Morton Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a gunshot victim, later identified as 29-year-old Bruce Dixon of Camden, unconscious at the scene. Dixon was quickly transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 2:04 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Officials have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are being released at this time. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
