Spartanburg, SC — Three Arrested in Connection with Deadly Drive-By Shooting That Claimed the Life of 17-Year-Old Zion Jordan
The Spartanburg Police Department has announced the arrest of three individuals connected to a fatal drive-by shooting that occurred last month, leaving a teenager dead and a community in mourning.
According to authorities, officers responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Amherst Drive shortly before 1 a.m. on September 20. When officers arrived on the scene at approximately 12:50 a.m., they discovered 17-year-old Zion Renaldo Myssiah Jordan inside the home’s kitchen area, unresponsive. Despite immediate medical attention, Zion was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators quickly launched an intensive investigation into the shooting, which was determined to be a targeted drive-by attack. Over the following weeks, detectives gathered crucial evidence and conducted multiple interviews that ultimately led to the identification and arrest of three suspects believed to be involved in Zion’s killing.
On Monday, police arrested Arienna Selena Jackson, 17, of Taylors; Kenton Lakeem Byrd, 27, of Duncan; and Henry Lewis Jackson, Jr., 18, also of Taylors.
Authorities have charged Arienna Jackson and Kenton Byrd with murder, while Henry Jackson faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. All three suspects were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Spartanburg County Detention Center, where they remain pending their bond hearings scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
