Tragic Discovery in San Francisco: Four Family Members, Including Two Children, Found Dead in Monterey Boulevard Home
The San Francisco community is reeling from heartbreak following the discovery of four deceased individuals—two adults and two children—inside a home on the 900 block of Monterey Boulevard earlier this week. Authorities have since identified the victims as Thomas Russell Ocheltree, 57; Paula Truong, 53; Alexandra Ocheltree, 12; and MacKenzie Ocheltree, 9.
According to the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), all four individuals were residents of the home where the tragic incident occurred. The OCME has confirmed that a medicolegal death investigation is underway, with the bodies transferred for examination and postmortem toxicology analysis to determine the precise causes and manner of death.
The San Francisco Police Department initially responded to the scene Wednesday morning after receiving a call for a welfare check at the residence. Upon arrival, officers found the four victims inside, leading to an immediate and large-scale response by both police and emergency medical personnel. Despite efforts, all individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
While the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths remain under investigation, officials have described the case as complex and are working closely with the OCME and forensic specialists to piece together a timeline of events. Police have not yet confirmed whether foul play is suspected, and authorities are urging patience as they await toxicology results and forensic findings.
The tragedy has shaken the Glen Park and Sunnyside neighborhoods, where the family was known as kind and private residents. Neighbors have described the Ocheltree family as close-knit, devoted parents who were deeply involved in their children’s education and extracurricular activities. Twelve-year-old Alexandra and nine-year-old MacKenzie are being remembered as bright, joyful students whose laughter often echoed through the neighborhood.
“This is devastating beyond words,” said one neighbor, reflecting the community’s shared grief. “They were such a loving family. You can’t imagine something like this happening here.”
The San Francisco Unified School District has confirmed that counselors and crisis teams have been made available to support students and teachers affected by the loss. Vigils and community gatherings are being organized to honor the memory of Alexandra and MacKenzie, whose young lives were tragically cut short.
