ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A tragic single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of a 25-year-old Allentown man.
On September 27, 2025, at approximately 5:05 a.m., emergency crews from the Allentown Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS responded to the area of Union Boulevard near Quebec Street after receiving reports of a serious crash.
When first responders arrived, they discovered that a vehicle traveling westbound in the 1700 block of Union Boulevard had left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The collision caused catastrophic damage to the vehicle and left the driver critically injured.
The driver, later identified as Isaiah Ewell, also known by many in the community as “Zay,” received immediate emergency medical attention at the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Ewell succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on-site. Authorities confirmed he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Police say the cause of the crash remains under active investigation, and it has not yet been determined what factors may have contributed to the vehicle leaving the roadway. Investigators are examining all possibilities, including road conditions, speed, or potential mechanical issues.
The impact also damaged the utility pole, leading to temporary disruptions in the area as crews worked to secure the scene and ensure public safety.
No additional information is being released at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
Ewell’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and the Allentown community in mourning. Known to many simply as “Zay,” he is remembered as a young man whose life ended far too soon in a tragic accident.
