SAN JOSÉ, Calif. — A tragic traffic collision on Thursday night, September 25, 2025, claimed the life of a motorcyclist after a violent crash with a pickup truck at the intersection of Branham Lane and Capay Drive.
According to the San José Police Department (SJPD), officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:25 p.m. following multiple reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a truck. Emergency medical personnel and the San José Fire Department also responded.
The preliminary investigation determined that a 2011 Suzuki motorcycle, operated by an adult male, was traveling eastbound on Branham Lane toward Capay Drive. At the same time, a 2011 Ford truck, occupied by an adult male driver and two juvenile passengers, was making a left turn onto westbound Branham Lane from Capay Drive. The motorcycle collided head-on with the truck in the intersection, resulting in catastrophic injuries to the rider.
The motorcyclist, identified as Aiden Mikha, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities confirmed that he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
One of the juvenile passengers in the truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford truck, who was uninjured, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators.
Police stated this incident marks the 27th fatal collision and the 27th traffic death in San José in 2025, underscoring ongoing concerns about roadway safety in the city.
The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner will conduct further examination and officially release the victim’s identity, although friends and community members have already begun mourning the loss of Aiden Mikha.
The San José Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit is actively investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash. Detectives are working to determine whether factors such as speed, visibility, or driver error played a role.
