In Loving Memory of Mr. Conrad Riley Becker

With profound sadness and immeasurable grief, the family and friends of Mr. Conrad Riley Becker share his passing on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the young age of 21. Born on December 6, 2003, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Conrad was the beloved son of Rachel Prater Becker and Robert Conrad “Bob” Becker, who survive him. Though his years were brief, Conrad’s life was one filled with faith, love, joy, and inspiration, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Conrad’s educational journey reflected both his dedication and his pursuit of excellence. He attended Tupelo Christian Preparatory School from 2008 until the fall of 2019, when he transferred to Tupelo High School, graduating proudly with the Class of 2022. At the time of his passing, Conrad was pursuing a degree in Cyber Security at Mississippi State University, a path that reflected his intellect, determination, and his interest in shaping the future of technology.

A young man with a sterling personality, Conrad was known for his warmth, his smile, and his ability to uplift others. His encouragement, quick wit, and wisdom far beyond his years drew people to him effortlessly. Friends and family recall that he always had a kind word, a reassuring presence, and a natural ability to bring peace in times of conflict — earning him the role of peacemaker among his peers.

Conrad’s faith was a guiding light in his life. He grew up at St. James Catholic Church, where he actively participated in youth activities including CYO and VISION, the annual retreat held at Notre Dame University. These experiences deepened his love for Christ and strengthened the faith that shaped his values and outlook on life. He also cherished summers at Alpine Camp for Boys in Mentone, Alabama, where he built lifelong friendships and memories that spoke to his adventurous spirit.

While he did not compete in school sports, Conrad’s love for activity and the outdoors was evident in his many hobbies. He was a talented wake surfer, snow skier, golfer, basketball player, and pickleball enthusiast. His joy in these activities reflected his love for life and his appreciation for both challenge and fun.

Conrad was also deeply connected to his schools and community, and though he loved Mississippi State University, he was equally a passionate supporter of Alabama football — a true SEC fan with a heart big enough to embrace both. His loyalty, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship mirrored the vibrant way he approached life itself.

Conrad’s passing is a reminder that life is fragile and fleeting, but also that love, faith, and family are the cornerstones of meaningful living. His radiant soul, his kindness, and his unshakable faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Tim Murphy and Father Henry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery in Saltillo, Mississippi. Prior to the Mass, a Holy Hour with silent prayers will take place at St. James Church from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m.

Conrad is survived by his loving parents, Bob Becker of Belden and Rachel (Becker) Prater of Tupelo; his grandparents, George Robert and Marlene Becker of Johnson City, TN; his brothers, Robert Alan DuBose (Kristen) of Birmingham and Matthew Becker (15) of Tupelo; his sisters, Jennifer DuBose of Birmingham, Nicole Becker Rollins (Joshua) of Dallas, TX, and Danielle Becker of Denver, CO; and his niece, Madilyn Allen (Peyton) of Birmingham, AL. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, other relatives, and a host of close friends throughout the Mid-South.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jerry Ann Prater and Billy Robert Prater of Fayette, Alabama, whose memory he always carried close to his heart.

Though the world has lost a remarkable young man far too soon, the memory of Conrad Riley Becker will remain eternal. His love, his faith, and his light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew him, a reminder of the beauty of a life lived with grace and joy.

May his soul rest in perpetual light.
