DPS Identifies Victims of Deadly Crash on I-35 in La Salle County

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has officially released the identities of two men who lost their lives in a fiery crash along Interstate 35 near mile marker 55 earlier this week. The tragic accident, which occurred on Monday, September 22, 2025, has left two families grieving and has shaken the surrounding communities of Natalia and Dilley, Texas.

The Accident

According to investigators, a white pickup truck was traveling along I-35 when it collided with a tractor-trailer under circumstances that remain under investigation. The force of the collision caused the pickup truck to immediately burst into flames, while the tractor-trailer itself became partially engulfed in fire.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but the intensity of the flames made immediate rescue efforts nearly impossible. By the time firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, the devastation was evident. Both the driver and the passenger of the pickup truck were tragically killed at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, however, sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Authorities have not reported any additional vehicles involved in the crash.
