In Loving Memory of Jayleigh Moralez Hamshire-Fannett Varsity Softball Catcher | Class of 2025
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Jayleigh Moralez, a senior at Hamshire-Fannett High School and the cherished catcher of the Varsity Ladyhorns Softball Team. Jayleigh’s life, though tragically cut short, left an unforgettable mark on her family, friends, teammates, and the entire community.
Jayleigh was more than an athlete—she was a leader, a role model, and a shining example of determination and heart. Behind the plate, she displayed unmatched courage, grit, and dedication. She was the kind of player who inspired her teammates to dig deeper, push harder, and believe in themselves. Her leadership didn’t come from words alone, but from the way she played the game—with passion, integrity, and an unbreakable spirit.
Off the field, Jayleigh’s presence was just as impactful. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness unwavering, and her smile—bright and genuine—could lift the heaviest of spirits. Friends remember her as someone who was always there to listen, to encourage, and to bring joy into any situation. She lived with a heart wide open, caring deeply for those around her and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
As a student, teammate, and friend, Jayleigh embodied the true spirit of what it means to be a Ladyhorn—hardworking, compassionate, humble, and always willing to give her very best. She was not only an outstanding athlete, but also a remarkable young woman whose character and light will continue to inspire.
The loss of Jayleigh is felt deeply throughout Hamshire-Fannett and beyond. Teammates mourn the void left on the field, classmates grieve the absence of her friendship in the hallways, and the community as a whole feels the weight of losing such a bright and promising soul.
Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with her family, friends, teammates, coaches, and all who loved her. While words will never fully capture the depth of this loss, may we find comfort in knowing Jayleigh’s legacy will live on—in the game she loved, in the lives she touched, and in the countless memories we will forever cherish.
Rest peacefully, sweet Jayleigh. You will always be remembered, loved, and celebrated. Your spirit will remain with us, on and off the field, forever.
