MASON COUNTY, W.Va. — Heartbreak is echoing throughout Mason County following a tragic ATV accident that claimed the life of 25-year-old Jason Ray Chapman of Leon. What began as a weekend of recreation ended in devastation, leaving family, friends, and the wider community grieving an irreplaceable loss.

The accident occurred Saturday, August 30, in the Leon area, near the intersection of Winding Lane and Union School Road. Initial reports from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office indicated that two individuals had been injured in the crash, with one person suffering critical, life-threatening injuries. Sadly, it was later confirmed that Chapman did not survive.
