In Loving Memory of Kelly Dial
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Kelly Dial, a beloved educator, colleague, and friend. Kelly’s sudden departure has left an immense void in the lives of her family, students, coworkers, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kelly dedicated her life to teaching and supporting students, pouring her heart into every role she held throughout her career. She was most recently serving as an Agricultural Science Teacher at Centerville High School in Groveton, Texas, where she inspired countless students with her knowledge, patience, and unwavering encouragement. Prior to this, Kelly made a meaningful impact as a Reading Lab Specialist at Groveton ISD, working tirelessly to help children reach their fullest potential. Her journey in education also included serving as an Elementary Special Education Teacher at Big Sandy ISD, where she became known for her compassion, dedication, and unique ability to connect with every child she taught.
Kelly’s passion for learning and teaching was rooted in her own academic path. She was a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University, where she honed the skills and knowledge that would shape her lifelong career in education. A graduate of Big Sandy High School, she never forgot her roots and maintained a strong bond with her community throughout her life.
Born in Livingston, Texas, and later making her home in Groveton, Texas, Kelly built a life centered around service, love, and community. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was cherished for her warmth, generosity, and her ability to brighten any room she entered. Her presence was comforting and her spirit uplifting, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Colleagues remember Kelly as more than just an educator; she was a mentor, a friend, and a role model. To her students, she was a guiding light—someone who not only believed in their potential but helped them believe in themselves.
Her passing is a tremendous loss to the education community and to all who were fortunate enough to know her. While Kelly is no longer with us in person, her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched, the students she guided, and the love she shared so freely.
As we mourn the loss of Kelly Dial, we also celebrate her remarkable life and the immeasurable impact she left behind. She will be remembered not only for her contributions as a teacher but also for the kindness, dedication, and love she embodied every day.
