West Monroe Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Injured — Suspect Dies from Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

On August 11, 2025, a tragic and violent series of events unfolded in West Monroe, Louisiana, leaving one young woman dead, another hospitalized, and the suspect deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to the West Monroe Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Prune Street in response to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found two female victims.

One of the victims, identified as Emma Bueno, 19, was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was quickly transported to a local hospital, where she remains under medical care. The second victim, a 17-year-old juvenile female, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

Witness accounts and statements from the surviving victim quickly pointed investigators toward a suspect: Andricko Lamon Lewis Jr., 21, the ex-boyfriend of Ms. Bueno. Authorities say Lewis fled the scene before police arrived.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office later located Lewis, who was driving a vehicle belonging to one of the victims. When officers attempted to stop him, Lewis led them on a pursuit involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Monroe Police Department and the Louisiana State Police.

The chase came to a devastating conclusion when Lewis was found deceased inside the vehicle from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers or additional civilians were harmed during the pursuit.

At this time, the case remains under active investigation, and authorities have not released details regarding the motive behind the shooting. However, given the nature of the relationship between Lewis and Ms. Bueno, domestic violence is being considered a key factor.

Local officials are expressing deep condolences to the families impacted by this tragedy. “Our hearts go out to the victims and their loved ones,” the West Monroe Police Department stated, also extending gratitude to assisting agencies for their coordinated efforts in responding to the incident.

This incident marks yet another reminder of the devastating impact of domestic-related violence, which continues to claim lives and leave lasting trauma within communities. Counselors and victim support services are expected to be made available for those affected by the shooting.

As Emma Bueno fights for her recovery, friends and community members have begun organizing support efforts to assist her and the family of the 17-year-old victim, whose identity is being withheld due to her age.

Anyone with additional information related to the events leading up to this incident is encouraged to contact the West Monroe Police Department or Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office to aid in the ongoing investigation.
