Texarkana, TX – Early Morning Shooting Leaves 22-Year-Old Man Dead, Teen Suspect in Custody
TEXARKANA, TEXAS – A quiet residential street turned into the scene of a homicide early Friday morning after police responded to a deadly shooting in the 1200 block of Nolthenius Street.
According to the Texarkana Texas Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 4:51 a.m. following a 911 call reporting gunfire at a residence. When they arrived, they discovered 22-year-old Trewan Sanders of Texarkana, Texas, lying just inside the doorway of the home. Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene, his life cut short in an act of violence that has stunned the neighborhood.
By Friday afternoon, police had identified and arrested 17-year-old Kamarion Fricks of Ashdown, Arkansas, in connection with the killing. Fricks was transported to the Bi-State Jail, where he was booked on a murder charge. Authorities have not released information about a possible motive, nor have they confirmed the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
Detectives are now working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. Investigators spent much of Friday gathering evidence from the scene, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing any available surveillance footage from nearby homes or businesses.
