In Loving Memory of Greg Nowak: A Legacy of Laughter, Love, and Light

With profound sorrow and aching hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Greg Nowak, who left this world far too soon on July 23, 2025. His sudden departure has left a deep and painful void in the lives of those who loved him most, especially his beloved wife Mindy, and their cherished children—Melanie, Amanda, Garrett, and Rylie. Though gone from our sight, Greg’s vibrant spirit, infectious energy, and enduring love will live on in the countless lives he touched.

Greg was more than a husband and father. He was a beacon of light, a cornerstone of strength, and a force of kindness and humor in a world that often needs more of both. His quick wit and infectious smile had the unique power to turn even the darkest moment into one of hope. Those lucky enough to know him—whether for a moment or a lifetime—remember him as someone who lifted others, offered a hand without hesitation, and showed up for his loved ones in ways big and small.

At the heart of Greg’s world was his family. His love for Mindy was deep, steady, and unwavering—an example of true partnership rooted in trust, laughter, and mutual respect. As a father, Greg was the kind of dad who showed up to every game, every recital, every life moment—armed with pride and a camera, always cheering the loudest. He guided Melanie, Amanda, Garrett, and Rylie not only with words, but with a daily example of integrity, generosity, and a playful sense of humor that turned ordinary moments into lifelong memories.

Greg’s joy was contagious. Whether grilling in the backyard, cracking jokes at family dinners, offering wisdom when someone needed guidance, or helping out in his community, he lived a life that was present and purposeful. He never let the moment pass without adding his spark. His laugh—boisterous, warm, and utterly genuine—will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.

Professionally and personally, Greg was admired for his work ethic, his collaborative spirit, and his ability to make those around him feel like family. He approached everything in life with passion and sincerity, always willing to do the hard work while never losing his sense of humor or perspective. Friends, neighbors, and colleagues alike describe him as someone who gave much more than he ever asked in return.

The outpouring of love and support since his passing is a reflection of the kind of man Greg was—irreplaceable. The grief of losing him is immense, but so too is the gratitude for having had him in our lives. We carry forward not just the pain of his absence, but the privilege of his presence—grateful for every laugh, every lesson, and every memory.

A funeral service honoring Greg’s life will be held on Thursday, July 31st, at River Point Church in Richmond. A viewing will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life service, and then interment at Greenlawn. All are welcome to come and remember a man who gave so much to so many, and to honor the legacy he leaves behind.

To Mindy, Melanie, Amanda, Garrett, and Rylie—our hearts are with you. We grieve with you, we stand with you, and we honor the incredible life Greg lived. May you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and the immeasurable impact he had on everyone blessed to know him.

Greg Nowak, you were a light in this world. Though that light has dimmed far too soon, its glow remains in every heart you touched, in every story you inspired, and in every life made better by your presence. We will miss you deeply, remember you fondly, and carry your legacy forward—with love, laughter, and the same generous spirit that defined you.

Rest in peace, Greg. You were one of a kind.
