In Loving Memory of Gabrielle “Gabby” Platt

1996 – 2025

Gabrielle “Gabby” Platt, 28, of Woodbine, New Jersey, passed away tragically earlier this week in a car accident in Cape May County. Her sudden loss has left a profound emptiness in the hearts of her family, friends, and the wider community who cherished her light, laughter, and unwavering generosity.

A Life Rooted in Love and Family

Born in 1996, Gabby was a proud lifelong resident of Woodbine, where she was known not just by name, but by spirit. As the eldest of three siblings, she embraced her role as a nurturing guide and confidant. Her siblings remember her as someone who never hesitated to listen, lend advice, or share a heartfelt laugh during hard times.

To her parents, Gabby was a joy—selfless, steady, and radiant. Sunday family dinners were sacred, not just for the food or the routine, but for the way Gabby made everyone feel truly seen and heard. She carried old-fashioned values with a modern grace—quick to wash dishes, pack a lunch, or send a loving text to her grandparents. She was her family’s anchor and gentle strength.

A Vibrant Spirit in School and Career

Gabby graduated from Woodbine High School in 2014, where she was known for her warm presence and dedication to her studies. She also stood out in the school’s theater program, where her expressive performances and natural charm made her a favorite among peers and teachers alike. It was there she began to cultivate her voice—not only as a performer but as someone who could uplift others with her creativity.

In 2018, she earned her degree in marketing from Rowan University, a field that allowed her to combine analytical thinking with her intuitive grasp of people. Gabby joined a Cape May-based tourism consultancy soon after graduation, and her impact was immediate. Whether designing eye-catching campaigns or forging close ties with local business owners, Gabby approached every project with energy, integrity, and heart. Her coworkers recall how she never sought the spotlight but always helped others shine.

Friend to All, Stranger to None

Gabby’s friendships were deep and enduring. She was the kind of friend who remembered birthdays without a calendar, who knew when to drop by with coffee and a hug, and who always made time—whether for late-night talks, weekend beach walks, or impromptu dance parties in the kitchen. Her laugh could change the atmosphere of a room, and her empathy ran so deep that many turned to her in their darkest moments.

She loved the simple things—journaling at sunrise, volunteering at local events, baking new recipes with her little sister, and curating personalized playlists for friends. Everything she did was touched with intention and warmth.

A Legacy of Light

Though her life was tragically cut short, Gabby leaves behind a legacy of kindness, connection, and creativity. She taught those around her how to live with compassion, to pursue passions fully, and to love without reservation.

She is survived by her loving parents, two younger siblings, her grandparents, extended family, dearest friends, and colleagues—all of whom now carry her memory with them as both comfort and inspiration.

A celebration of Gabby’s life will be at, where loved ones are invited to gather in remembrance. Attendees are encouraged to wear colors that reflect Gabby’s vibrant personality and to bring a written memory or photo to be shared with the family.
