Richmond, Indiana — The community mourns the heartbreaking loss of Reed Alexander Bolser, 28, a spirited, faith-driven, and deeply beloved son, husband, brother, and friend, who passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Born on March 3, 1997, to Rick and Lori Bolser, Reed spent his early years enjoying an idyllic, adventurous childhood in Liberty, Indiana, a town he held close to his heart. From a young age, Reed exuded a magnetic energy that brought joy and excitement to everyone around him. Whether he was exploring the woods with his loyal dog, working on trucks with his dad, casting a fishing line into a quiet creek, or creating memories around a campfire with friends, Reed lived life with full-hearted passion and purpose.

Reed was a 2015 graduate of Union County High School and a 2019 graduate of Purdue Polytechnic. Reed worked at Contract Industrial Tooling as a Quality Technician/Creaform Specialist, but his true specialty was in storytelling and entertaining coworkers. Reed’s unwavering passion was tree work and running his business, Homeland Tree Care. Reed worked evenings and weekends sharpening chainsaws and climbing and felling trees, with nothing but peanuts and energy drinks in his system.
Reed’s mission was to share the message of salvation with others. He earnestly shared the verses, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Reed was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he attended with his dear wife, Abby.

Reed is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gene Byrd and Russell Bolser, and his treasured canine companion, Lilly Jo.

Reed’s life will be honored and celebrated with visitation on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St., Liberty, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Sims Cemetery.

In Reed’s memory, those who knew him are encouraged to live with the same courage, faith, and fire that he carried each day, and to continue spreading the message of hope that he so dearly cherished.
