Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Fatal Shooting in Ash; Suspect Sought
ASH, N.C. — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred on Vereen Road in Ash late Wednesday night, leaving a 20-year-old man dead. Authorities have identified Jonathon Jayden Babson-Hill as a suspect wanted in connection with the incident.
Deputies responded to reports of shots fired shortly before midnight. When they arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency personnel, the young man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that warrants have been issued for Babson-Hill, who is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators believe the suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting and may still be in the surrounding area or attempting to leave the county.
Sheriff John W.
