17-Year-Old Suspect Wanted in Fatal Shooting of Mackenzie Kaleb Thomas in Tunica County
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Authorities in Tunica County, Mississippi, have issued a warrant for the arrest of a 17-year-old male suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred late Sunday night. The tragic incident unfolded at the intersection of Carole Street and Edwards Avenue at approximately 11:13 p.m. on April 13.
Deputies with the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office responded swiftly to the scene after receiving an emergency call reporting a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Mackenzie Kaleb Thomas suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate efforts of first responders, Thomas was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the initial investigation, authorities identified Mario Donyale Lester, Jr., 17, as the primary suspect in the case. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of first-degree murder and unlawful discharge of a firearm within a populated area.
