16-Year-Old Bentonville Teen Killed in UTV Crash on Private Property in McDonald County

McDONALD COUNTY, Mo. — A 16-year-old boy from Bentonville, Arkansas, was killed in a utility task vehicle (UTV) accident late Saturday morning in McDonald County, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on private property along Route W, about three miles east of Anderson. Investigators say the teen was driving a UTV when he attempted to make a turn, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Emergency crews responded, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released, pending family notification.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident. Officials note that while UTVs are popular for both recreation and farm work, they can be dangerous if not operated carefully—particularly during sharp turns or at higher speeds.

Authorities emphasize the importance of safety precautions, including helmets, seat restraints, and responsible driving practices, to help reduce the risk of serious accidents.

No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash.
