15-Year-Old Identified as Victim in Deadly Peoria Shooting
Peoria, Ill. — A tragic shooting Wednesday morning has claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy, leaving a community in grief and police searching for answers. Authorities have identified the victim as Keyon Schmitt Harmon, who was found fatally wounded inside a home on North Sheridan Road.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:35 a.m. on October 1, 2025, to the 2400 block of North Sheridan after reports of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived, they discovered Harmon inside the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, investigators have not released details regarding what led up to the shooting, nor have they confirmed any suspect information.
