13-Year-Old Genesis Webber Killed in Arlington Hit-and-Run; Family Pleads for Justice

Arlington, FL — A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken the Arlington community after 13-year-old Genesis Webber was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday night, September 30, 2025. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) confirmed that investigators are still searching for the driver who struck the young teen and fled the scene without rendering aid.

According to JSO, the deadly incident is believed to have occurred between 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. along Arlington Road near the Matthews Bridge. Detectives said evidence indicates that a vehicle jumped a curb, struck Genesis, and crashed into a nearby fence before speeding off. The driver did not call for help, leaving the 13-year-old fatally injured.

Family members identified the victim as Genesis Webber, a bright, loving teenager whose life was cut tragically short. Loved ones described her as a kind-hearted young girl with a bright future, someone who brought joy to those around her. The Webber family is devastated by the sudden and senseless loss and is pleading for the person responsible to come forward.

“We just want accountability,” the family said in a public statement. “Genesis deserves justice. Whoever did this, please do the right thing—turn yourself in.”

JSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and is urging anyone who may have been in the area Tuesday evening or who might have information about the vehicle involved to come forward. Authorities believe the suspect’s vehicle may have visible damage from the crash.

Community members in Arlington have already begun leaving flowers, candles, and handwritten messages at the scene as a tribute to Genesis. The loss has sparked grief and anger across Jacksonville, with neighbors calling for safer roads and accountability for reckless drivers.

Police stressed the importance of public assistance in solving this case. “If you saw something or know something, please say something,” JSO stated.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office or call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

As the investigation continues, Genesis Webber’s family and friends are left grappling with the unimaginable pain of losing a child whose life had only just begun
